Bill Keith Howdy Forrester Sam Bush Butch Robins Bela Fleck melodic banjo bluegrass fiddle tune tunes
Description:
Please visit http://www.jimrichter.com for tab this arrangement. Brilliancy is an old fiddle tune I learned through the playing of Sam Bush (I learned it on mandolin first). The tune is most notably associated with Howdy Forrester, though Eck Robertson recorded "Brilliancy Medley" back in the late 20's (but was comprised of several different tunes). Forrester is the one this is most closely associated with and is one of those contest tunes for western style fiddlers. I just arranged this yesterday so I apologize for any fumblings. It should probably be a few clicks faster than this, but on banjo I really enjoy the almost classical arpeggiated sound of the tune so I do favor it a hair slower on banjo (plus, I can't get that 3rd part quite up to speed yet!) |
