jammoexii ::: Favorites 2007-07-13 19:15:59 It's never appropriate in a proof to use the phrase "as we can see from the diagram", particularly in geometry. In the step where you said that, instead say that because line ab intersects two parallel lines, it intersects them at the same angle and THEREFORE angle b + angle c is 90 degrees. __________________________________________________
jakehr3 ::: Favorites 2007-07-14 02:01:17 i think that around :42 you say "we can see from the diagram", in math (and this is annoying) you don't "see" anything you prove things mathmaticaly (spell check) not visually. You could've used a simple proof to say b + c = 90. (cont.) __________________________________________________
jakehr3 ::: Favorites 2007-07-14 02:10:57 prove: b + c = 90. 1) line a is perpindicular to line b because line c is perpindicular line a where they intersect (could be a more concise proof), 2) >b + >c + 90 because of what is stated in step one and the fact that line d intersects both line b and c without being parallel to line a ( i know it is confusing) srry __________________________________________________
