Description:

Immigration Experts speak in Carpentersville - Part Two immigration experts speak on the Village of Carpentersville's proposed Illegal Immigration Relief Act Ordinance. The speakers were handpicked by Village President Bill Sarto, as a counter-attack to the election victories of his political opponents on the board. The speakers featured are: Carlina Tapia-Ruano, president of the American Immigration Lawyers Association; and Brian R. Perryman, a former U.S. Immigration and Naturalization Service employee who started as a border patrol agent in 1969 and reached the position of agency director for the Chicago district before retiring in 2003. Both experts declared the ordinance, proposed by Trustees Paul Humpher and Judy Sigwalt, as a "bad policy, bad law, and expensive." Recorded May 22, 2007, at the Village of Carpentersville Hall, Illinois. Read the media coverage at: http://www.suburbanchicagonews.com/couriernews/news/397153,3_1_EL23_A1CVILLE_S1.article
