I just watched both programs and again, I still say Orser's artistry was better than Boitano's (even analysts said so)whereas the latter's jumps were perfect. . Whether the music was good or bad, the important thing was about skating. You have your opinion, I have mine. Thanks.

i dont know why people Orser was the superior artist; Boitano was so in character and his steps and hand movements were so awkward, Boitano had better music, and also better form and extension and better spins, I cant believe anyone thought Orser should have won

Boitano may had been superior for his technique - he indeed had the jumps; but Orser was superior for his artistry - he had quick steps and gestuals. Only if Orser had landed another triple axel, he would have won even if he slipped for the triple flip. But Boitano did win and that's the story.

That was an incredible night of skating from two very classy competitors.

I got to be honest, the marks were much closer than they SHOULD have been. Brian boitano was superior in every way, there is no way anyone could say orser should have won!

When Orser was a guest on 'Skating Kicks Back' they even made a joke about it. The two of them were out on the ice pretending to try and outskate each other then Elvis Stojko comes out and says "Aren't you guys over this battle stuff yet?" LOL. I've met Boitano, but I've never met Orser. Funny thing, after all this time it's never been them criticizing each other, only some of the so-called 'fans'.

As someone who saw the Battle of the Brians live (live on TV), it still seems like only yesterday. Of course I was rooting for Boitano, and he did win. But I wasn't rooting AGAINST Orser, I was rooting FOR Boitano. It was close, and that made it better for the fans, I think. I think Boitano deserved to win, and still do. I think its funny the extremes some of their fans take the whole thing to even nineteen years later.

i think its weird if i talk to all my coaches and stuff because like my coach david beatty used to be a sr canadian skater and a diff coach at our club vern taylor was the first man to land the triple axel and i spend 6 hours every day with them and thats weird enough? our choriographer chris bourn is shea-lynn bourns brother (shea-lynn being the world champs for ice dance) crazy world
