tiegs ::: Favorites I don't understand all the Jerry loving detractors. I think this is a GREAT interpretation. Good emotional Jerry vocals and a very tight & crisp lead. Good production too - the JGB sound hot on this track. 07-09-04 21:42:42 _____________________________________________________
DrSaucypants ::: Favorites Sorry...but it is NOT GOOD...period. 07-08-22 12:32:44 _____________________________________________________
nakedrat ::: Favorites Seems to me you are overly concerned about what others think of Jerry -- who cares? This is a classic song and Jerry loved doing classic songs. No, he doesn't perform it all that well, but I love it. 07-08-22 11:54:27 _____________________________________________________
standardflake ::: Favorites You have to love this track. It's downright funny at times. Jerry pickin up someone at a bar? I almost cried laughing when I saw him light that cigar. If you know Jer, you just can't care. Don't take things so seriously you heads. Is this on a movie soundtrack or something? 07-08-18 15:10:49 _____________________________________________________
NicksMySon ::: Favorites Old Al Jolsen Tune from the fricken 20's I think. Regardless of what peeps think, I love this tune. 07-08-09 20:12:20 _____________________________________________________
smn9ac ::: Favorites I agree that this song would "tarnish his image to the non-head stubling upon it". I have never been too impressed with any studio versions of songs done by Jer or GD (excpetions, Mountains and China Cat) I think the reason i like this so much is because of the rareness of it. This song does not "move" me in any particular way, if i want to be moved by Jer's playing and voice i go to So Many Roads from 94. Forever Grateful. Peace. 07-07-25 13:37:36 _____________________________________________________
DrSaucypants ::: Favorites still...I appreciate your comments. Bobby is in town and I am just missing the fat man, so maybe I am a bit neg, I don;t know. Peace. 07-07-25 13:19:34 _____________________________________________________
DrSaucypants ::: Favorites If you listen that much u know we dont need this crap to prove how diverse he is. Even while the musicianship here is decent, this is a freaking drag. Twist? This does nothing at all to move me, almost embarassing, & Jer's voice does not sound good. This is coming from a guy who loved his voice even in 94, so take that for what it is worth. Interesting piece from his final days and worth a listen, but one that I believe would only tarnish his image to the non-head stumbling upon this. 07-07-25 13:18:28 _____________________________________________________
smn9ac ::: Favorites I'm gonna have to disagree with you on this one. I listen to tons of jerry as well, and this is a great spin on a classic jazz tune. Although this is not one of Jerry's best songs, this is definetly not horrible, i think it shows Jerry's strength in his diversity as a musician. 07-07-25 13:04:07 _____________________________________________________
mookie1969 ::: Favorites They offered up a limited number of this video for free in the Dead Almanac. I sent my request in and lo and behold on August 8, 1995, there was this plain VHS tape in a white box in the mail box. I watched this video a half dozen times that night and was just so happy. I watched it the following night and was so sad. 07-07-22 12:38:55 _____________________________________________________ |
