Description:
Part (15/18): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tt473Gk1vOs Islam and Christianity - by Sheikh Ahmed Deedat and Dr. Gary Miller An open air symposium takes place at Westridge Park Stadium Islam and Christianity - by Sheikh Ahmed Deedat and Dr. Gary Miller An open air symposium takes place at Westridge Park Stadium, Durban between Mr. Ahmed Deedat and an ex-Christian Gary Miller. The discussion centres around the viewpoints of Islam and Christianity on various topics such as the divinity of Christ (pbuh), Is the Bible God's word? etc. A lively question and answer session ensues. Sheikh Ahmed Hussein Deedat (July 1, 1918 - August 8, 2005): He was a Muslim scholar of Comparative religion, an author, lecturer, and an orator. He was best known for witty inter-religious public debates. What differentiated Deedat's approach from his contemporaries, apart from eloquence in English language, was that he would not only use references from the Qur'an and the Hadith, but also use his intensive knowledge of the Bible. Dr. Gary Miller: Gary Miller (Abdul-Ahad Omar) shows how we can establish true faith by setting standards of truth. He illustrates a simple but effective method of finding out the right direction in our search for truth. G.R. Miller is a mathematician and a theologian. He was active in Christian missionary work at a particular point of his life but he soon began to discover many inconsistencies in the Bible. In 1978, he happened to read the Qur'an expecting that it, too, would contain a mixture of truth and falsehood. He discovered to his amazement that the message of the Qur'an was precisely the same as the essence of truth that he had distilled from the Bible. He became a Muslim and since then has been active in giving public presentations on Islam including radio and television appearances. He is also the author of several articles and publications about Islam. |

solosinger67 ::: Favorites On the day when some faces will be whitened and some faces will be blackened, say to those whose faces will be blackened, 'Did ye reject faith after accepting it? Taste then the penalty for rejecting faith.' But those faces will be whitened, they will be in God's mercy: therein to dwell." (Sura Al-i-Imran, 3:106-107 Word of God or the devil? 07-07-11 06:08:30 _____________________________________________________
solosinger67 ::: Favorites So if I was gay Then I will call Allah gay because that would be seen a beautiful name or I can call hiom daffodil but wait for the shock if you you think your koran is truth 07-07-11 06:01:45 _____________________________________________________
shakirshuvo ::: Favorites You see, the Arabs are the children of the prophet Abraham (pbuh). They believed in one God until they turned away from God and started worshipping idols. But some of the Abrahamic practices remained with them... just like the Christians... Even though, the Christians believe in God Almighty but still they (you) worship a man. 07-07-10 23:19:08 _____________________________________________________
shakirshuvo ::: Favorites In Islam we don't differenciate between prophets. They are all God's ritious slaves. Jesus (pbuh) didn't say that prophet John (pbuh) was the last prophet. In fact, Jesus (pbuh) said JOHN 16:7,8: "But I tell you the truth: It is for your good that I am going away. Unless I go away, the Comforter will not come to you; but if I go, I will send him to you." The Hebrew word for "Comforter" is Muhammadim, which is clear enough that Jesus (pbuh) was talking about prophet Muhammad (pbuh). 07-07-10 23:13:54 _____________________________________________________
shakirshuvo ::: Favorites I take it that you weren't paying attention to Sheikh Deedat's lecture. Jesus (pbuh) is one of the mightiest messengers of God in Islam. No Muslim is a Muslim if he/she doesn't believe in Jesus (pbuh), his miraculous birth, his miraculous actions by the will of God. It is foolish and sad to imply that Sheikh Deedat was paralized because he was debating Christians. Remember Pope John Paul? Should I say more? But I'm not foolish enough to imply that God cursed the man because he was a Christian. 07-07-10 22:53:00 _____________________________________________________
shakirshuvo ::: Favorites In Islam God is unique. You cannot give Him any shape or form. 07-07-10 22:45:39 _____________________________________________________
shakirshuvo ::: Favorites Now, if you're implying that Muslims shouldn't call God by Allah, rather we should call Him by YHWH or Yahweh or Jehovah then my response is: The Qur'an says that we can call God by any beautiful names as long as it doesn't create any mental picture. There are 99 beautiful names of God in the Qur'an. You see, Christians say that man was created in the image of God, thus, when you say God is Jehovah then it creats a picture of an old man in your mind, thus, we Muslims don't use that name. 07-07-10 22:43:13 _____________________________________________________
shakirshuvo ::: Favorites Correction: Allah is the Arabic word for "The God." The Hebrew Jewish name for God was YHWH, which is impossible to pronounce by the latin speakers since there's no vowel, thus, vowels were added to form Yahweh. I don't need your £500 but if you're sinceer enough I would urge you to donate that money to a charity. 07-07-10 22:29:14 _____________________________________________________
solosinger67 ::: Favorites John the Baptist was the greatest of all prophets says Jesus, not Mohammed. The last of all prophets. Why was John Baptist the greatest and last prophet? What works did he do if we are going to go by works as Deedat argued? Deedat Claims that Jesus have few words in the gospels from his own lips compared to Mohammed. So why john greatest when he did nothing, wrote nothing unlike previous prophets? £300 cash to any (Muslim) to answer it (I will pay up) 07-07-10 06:44:03 _____________________________________________________ |
