Description:
full immersion virtual reality step aside, here is a cool look of what else might be in store for us in the not too distant future. You will be playing a super advanced version of eye-toy. |

radakat ::: Favorites Cool, there should be more of this! 07-05-29 10:21:16 _____________________________________________________
MarlboroMan4056 ::: Favorites wait till the media gets a hold of this, there will never be an unarmed civilian getting shot ever again. 07-06-08 16:24:53 _____________________________________________________
bjeah ::: Favorites Actually, having virtual objects go behind real objects quite possible. And easy too, as long as the objects are stationary (like the ruins). You need to draw into the 3D-scene where there are "mask-objects". For instance, if you had a teapot on the table, you would just have to draw the teapot into the scene, but tell the system not to draw it, but only use it to avoid drawing objects that pass behind it. "Transparent" masks would tell the system to blend the real and fake picture 50/50. 07-06-10 06:01:00 _____________________________________________________
bjeah ::: Favorites Moving objects are a different story. You would need to use motion detection to spot the difference between the scene in general and the moving parts, and also would need to know how far into the picture the moving object is. This would require some 2D-to-3D-processing, like your eyes do. Perhaps two cameras could fix this, somehow. And it would have to be precise and consistant, as to avoid flickering. 07-06-10 06:01:35 _____________________________________________________
grappler100 ::: Favorites pragmatic publishing is putting out a book about augmented reality that includes sample code 07-08-01 12:04:11 _____________________________________________________
theredpill99 ::: Favorites the media has already gotten a hold of this technology unfortunately...remember 9/11/2001 ?...ummm yeah, they most likely used holographic planes for that... 07-08-08 11:07:09 _____________________________________________________
theredpill99 ::: Favorites they already have...I'm quite sure that this technology came from the military...in fact, most inventions these days go to the military first...they used this technology on 9/11/2001...does that make you happy?... 07-08-08 11:09:30 _____________________________________________________
theredpill99 ::: Favorites yes, it would be great...we would always be at war because of all the great military planning...yippee yippee...war is fun...right?...700,000 dead...that's not very many casualties...we'll start worrying once we reach a million... 07-08-08 11:13:04 _____________________________________________________
MarlboroMan4056 ::: Favorites I have yet to find reliable evidence for this theory. 07-08-08 14:52:08 _____________________________________________________
deeshk379 ::: Favorites Youtube isnt good for nakedness. I like the site _CAMAHOLIC.NET_ -deeshk379 07-08-09 18:36:50 _____________________________________________________ |
